We are an Anglican church serving a parish in
Selly Park, south Birmingham.
Our site at 953 Pershore Road has been completely
redeveloped over the last year or so. We moved into our new
multi-purpose building in February 2008, and have
already used it to host a wide range of events.

Nigel Hand moves on
Our vicar, Nigel Hand, is leaving us to take
up a post based at Birmingham Cathedral, where he will be
working to build links with the wider community
(press release
here).
We're very grateful for all that Nigel has
done at Christ Church over the last 10 years, and our loss is the City's
gain as he moves into this key rôle.

The church community
The strength of our community is reflected by the vast
range of events we organise to entertain ourselves and others, and to
raise money for the new building. |

Our place in the world
At Christ Church our links with the local
community have
been built up
over nearly 80 years. We are also very conscious that
we are partners in the
gospel with the
worldwide Christian church.

Past and present
Regular services began in the Pershore Road building in 1977,
originally as
part of the parish of St. Stephen and St. Wulstan. In June 2004 we
became a parish in
our own right, changing our name from the Church Centre to Christ
Church. |
