As well as sending a team from Birmingham to churches in Bolivia, this venture also includes funding projects to meet specific needs in the country. We wanted to let you know that the funding for projects in Tarija has been redirected after discussion with local leaders.
At Jesús el Buen Pastor - the main church in the city - the original plan was to contribute to the purchase of musical instruments and PA equipment to enhance praise and worship. Instead, the money will be used to fund retreats for men and women in the church - a different way of helping them to grow.
The other church in Tarija, Santa Cruz (not to be confused with the city of the same name!) is located in one of the poorest districts of the city. Instead of buying building materials, we will be paying for packs of household and food items to be distributed to families around the church.
This will not affect our programme of activity, except that the team will be spending some time buying items for the household packs and putting them together.
