The Christ Church Vision Statement
Because of God's love and grace shown to us, we seek to be:
- A community responsive to God, motivated by Jesus' teaching, and reflecting Him in our lives, relationships and concerns
- A people equipped and empowered by the Holy Spirit to live and witness for Jesus in our networks, trying to discern God wherever we go
- A centre of service and welcome, as a visible agent of God's presence and Kingdom, helping to promote the well-being and salvation of our local area and beyond

Explaining the vision
The Vision Statement was presented to the whole church in the morning service on 15 January 2012. You can listen to what Geoff Lanham said via our sermon download page.
This is being followed up by a series of sermons Unpacking our values in morning services from January to March 2012.
What's the vision statement for?
Its purpose is to indicate where we're heading - to provide direction and focus. It's not about what we should do, but rather what we believe God wants us to be.
How was it produced?
A lot of the thinking was done by the Christ Church congregation at a Vision Day in October 2011. We considered the church and its activities, the wider area and community, and the networks to which our members belong.
Thinking big thoughts at our Vision Day
Another important source of information was the Community survey we held in the summer of 2011, which helped us to better understand the needs of the local area.
The church leadership team drew together these ideas and after much prayer, thought and discussion the statement was approved by the Parochial Church Council in January 2012.
