The Christ Church Vision Statement

Because of God's love and grace shown to us, we seek to be:

  • A community responsive to God, motivated by Jesus' teaching, and reflecting Him in our lives, relationships and concerns
  • A people equipped and empowered by the Holy Spirit to live and witness for Jesus in our networks, trying to discern God wherever we go
  • A centre of service and welcome, as a visible agent of God's presence and Kingdom, helping to promote the well-being and salvation of our local area and beyond

Our values

As a church we place value on being:

  • Passionate about living out God's Word
  • Prayerful and dependent on the Holy Spirit
  • Committed to whole-life worship
  • Dependent on God's grace
  • Responsive to God
  • Hospitable, welcoming and accepting
  • Genuine in our relationships
  • An open, inter-generational community
  • Engaged in wider social and global issues
  • Committed to effective communication

Explaining the vision

The Vision Statement was presented to the whole church in the morning service on 15 January 2012. You can listen to what Geoff Lanham said via our sermon download page.

This is being followed up by a series of sermons Unpacking our values in morning services from January to March 2012.
