Christmas Eve\/Day services<\/h2>\n
\"Lighting\n<\/div>\n
A reflective Midnight service on Christmas Eve was followed by an all age celebration on Christmas morning. It was good to welcome many guests to both.<\/p>\n

Candlelit Carol Service<\/h2>\n

Sunday December 21 at 7.00 pm<\/span><\/p>\n

Carols by candlelight<\/p><\/div>\n

We joined with members and friends from Selly Park Baptist Church to sing traditional carols led by a choir and instrumentalists, who also presented some solo songs. A big crowd stayed afterwards for mulled wine and mince pies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Wednesday December 24 at 3.30 pm<\/span><\/p>\n

A Christmas celebration for pre-school children and their families.<\/p>\n

Bert and Lucy, our resident puppets, narrated the Christmas story while the children acted it out<\/p><\/div>\n

Liz opened a Christmas present and found a lamp… which made her think about Jesus the Light of the world<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Carol singing in pubs is an ancient tradition which we are more than happy to preserve! We launched the Christmas festivities at the Selly Park Tavern<\/strong> on Monday December 1<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

On Friday December 19<\/strong> we were at a very cheerful Highbury pub<\/strong> in Dads Lane.<\/p>\n

On Saturday December 6<\/strong> we joined friends from Selly Park Baptist Church at the Stirchley Co-op<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Christmas Coffee Mates<\/h2>\n

Thank you to our wonderful team of helpers and all who serve throughout the year<\/p><\/div>\n

The last Coffee Mates of the year included mulled wine, Stollen, mince pies and some Christmas carols. <\/p>\n

All money raised today and during the last few months will go to the Kenya Kindergarten project.<\/em><\/div>\n

Christmas Messy Church<\/h2>\n

Saturday December 13 at 4.00 pm<\/span><\/p>\n

Messy Church included the usual mix of crafts, creativity and celebration, focusing especially on Christmas. <\/p>\n

The crafts included reminders of the Christmas story such as decorated crowns and finger puppet kings. The children also decorated jars holding tealights, and made Christmas cards and edible treats.<\/p>\n

The Christingle celebration helped to explain why Jesus came into the world, the candle light being a powerful symbol of light shining in a world full of darkness.<\/p><\/div>\n
